JAY SMITH

Jordan "Jay" "Papaw" Smith, 81, of Texarkana, Ark., died Thursday, May 24, 2018, in a local hospital. Mr. Smith was born July 12, 1937, in Banks, Ark. He was the retired owner of Jay's Auto Vinyl Tops and the former mayor of Nash, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Smith of Texarkana, Ark.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Diane and Jason Moore of Leary, Texas, and Alicia Rushing of Texarkana, Texas; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Tommy and Heather Smith of Texarkana, Texas, and Ronnie Smith of Texarkana, Ark.; two brothers, Cecil Smith of Stamps, Ark., and Buddy Smith of Warren, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Cremation is under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Online registration is at texarkanafuneralhome.com.
