McALESTER, Okla.—Judith "Judy" Cathey, 84, of McAlester died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, in McAlester. Mrs. Cathey was born Aug. 1, 1934, in Lucas, Kan. She was retired from McAlester Public Schools. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Tyler Conteras. Survivors include her husband, John Cathey; four sons, Dr. Freddie Contreras, Jeff Contreras, Greg Contreras and Mike Contreras; two daughters, Stephanie Osburn and Becky Schons; 19 grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Chaney's Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.
