It was an amazing and blessed journey from Adona, AR to Malvern, AR and finally to Texarkana where she made a warm and loving home for her family. The wonderful years seemed to race by and in the wee, quiet hours of Saturday morning, November 3rd, our Mother's earthly journey came to an end. With the last beat of her wonderful, loving heart, her last breath was drawn. At that exact spiritual moment, Mother left her frail, earthly body behind and began her last journey, one that will never end. As she went, rejoicing, into Eternity, we have no doubt she paused to look into each face of her surviving family and said a prayer of encouragement for each of us as we continue our earthly journey. Then she made one last stop in Adona and enjoyed one last walk in the grassy fields and wooded hills where her earthly journey began. It is very quiet here now. The tears are warm and comforting. But somewhere in the far distance, or maybe it's not that far at all, we hear the sounds of rejoicing. And we offer up a prayer of gratitude for God's Gift, our Mother. Kathryn was preceded in death by Clete Young, her husband and best friend, side by side for more than five decades, and her father, Albert Crowder and her mother, Lottie Crowder, whom she adored and cared for for years. Left to cherish Kathryn's memory are her children, Jan Young Chapman and husband, Jerry and Ron Young. Mother has four Grandchildren, Kristen Young, Amanda Chapman Strickland, Whitney Chapman Sellars and husband Daniel and Lindy Chapman Hatridge and husband Dustin (Bubba). Our beloved Mother and Grandmother also has five Great Grandchildren whom she adored and spoiled. The family requests your attendance at a celebration of Kathryn's life this Saturday at 11 AM at Temple Memorial Rehabilitation Center, 1315 Walnut Street, Texarkana, Texas. Light food and drinks will be provided. The dress is strictly casual. We would like you to bring your favorite memories of Kathryn, both poignant and humorous, to share with all. The family looks forward to seeing each of you.
