ATLANTA, Texas—Lawrence Leon Jester Jr., 90, of Atlanta died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018. Mr. Jester was born June 20, 1928, in Clebit, Okla. He was a retired District Engineer with TxDOT, former Senior Trans-portation Engineer with Jacobs Carter Burgess Engineers, Atlanta, past president of Atlanta Rotary Club and Sulphur River Chapter of Texas Society of Professional Engineers, former member of Atlanta Memorial Hospital Board of Directors and Atlanta Memorial Hospital Foundation Board of Directors and a Korean War veteran. Survivors include his wife, Martha Gail Caver Jester of Atlanta; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Bobby and Charlotte Austin Jester of Magnolia, Texas, and Stephany Stephens Jester of Austin; seven nieces and nephews; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hanner Funeral Service with the Rev. Tim Brown officiating. Burial will be in Laws Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
