DERREL JOHNSON

Derrel Irvin Johnson, 60, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, in a local hospital. Mr. Johnson was born Aug. 11, 1958, in Ashdown, Ark. He was a truck driver and a member of New Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ola Williamson Johnson; one son, Dimitri Irving "Scooter" Johnson of Texarkana; one daughter and son-in-law, Antoinette and Jordan Ford of Fort Belvoir, Va.; his parents, Johnny Ray Hendrix of Gould, Ark., and Shirley Williams of Hot Springs, Ark.; two brothers, Johnny Hendrix Jr. and Brandon Hendrix of Pine Bluff, Ark.; one sister, Shannon Hendrix of Kansas City, Mo.; one grandchild, Julian "Billy Bob" Ford of Fort Belvoir; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Zion Baptist Church, Lockesburg, Ark., with the Revs. Ronald Goodloe and Reginald Russell officiating. Burial will be in Scotts Memorial Cemetery, Paraloma, Ark., under direction of Haynes Mortuary. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
