James Elliot Russell

James Elliot Russell (Joe), 91, of Texarkana, Arkansas passed from this life November 23, 2018 at the Retreat at Kenwood under hospice care. He was a member of Beech Street First Baptist Church, NARFE Chapter 1453, and a World War II veteran. He was a field engineer for Garver & Garver Engineers and retired from International Paper Company. His parents were Joseph Elliot Russell and Evie Ellis. James was born January 16, 1927 in Bodcaw, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife of Sixty-Four years Emogene James, a daughter Regina Haralson and Husband Steve of Heber Springs, Arkansas, a son Daniel Baxter Thompson and Wife Darlene of New Boston, Texas; Grandchildren Jeani Connolly, Doris Haralson, and Russell Haralson of Little Rock, Arkansas, Mary Jean Garris and husband Jason of Spearsville, Louisiana, Daniel Thompson Jr. and Wife Melinda of Ashdown, Arkansas, Wendi Sparks and husband Danny of Sanger, Texas, and Misti Cole of Texarkana, Texas; Great-Grandchildren Cynthia Durham and Husband Jake of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Carter Sparks and Cailee Sparks of Sanger, Texas, Whitney Pavick of Alpine, Utah, Brent Pavick and Wife Carlie of Texarkana, Arkansas; Great-Great Grandchildren Karson Pavick of Texarkana, Arkansas, Ameila Adcock of Alpine, Utah. Visitation will be held at Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas on Sunday, November 25, 2018, from 1 2 pm at the Chapel followed by Graveside Services conducted by Pastor Craig Jenkins at 2 PM at Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Beech Street First Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
