Glenda Hinsley Deemer of Coppell, Texas, died on Sept. 11, 2018, at the age of 79, following a long illness. Glenda was born on April 10, 1939, in Nashville, Arkansas. She attended Lockesburg High School, where she played basketball on the Lockesburg Blue Darters team. She attended business school in Texarkana and then moved to Dallas to pursue a career. She worked for Day Oil Company in downtown Dallas for more than 50 years, and was an active member of Desk and Derrick, an organization for women in the petroleum industry. Glenda had many friends in the Dallas area and enjoyed sharing her many interests with them, including musical theater, pop music concerts, Bunco, Scrabble, bowling, book clubs, travel, and flower gardening. Glenda was a supporter of the Lyric Stage, a theater company that mounted classic broadway musicals at the Irving Arts Center. Her travel adventures included parasailing in Cancun and sled dog mushing in Alaska. And her favorite pop music entertainer was Neil Diamond. In her lifetime, she never missed a concert in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She attended his final 50 Year Anniversary World Tour in 2017 in her wheelchair. Glenda was a devoted mother to daughters Renee Studebaker and Rochelle Snow, and a loving "Mimi" to her grandchildren Jon, Taylor and Evan. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her younger brother Randy Hinsley, sister-in-law Linda Culp, son-in-law Monty Snow and grandson-in-law Allan Seddon. She is predeceased by her parents Gus and Esther Hinsley, and her older brother Jammie Hinsley. She is also survived by her dog, Peaches, who was by her side constantly during her illness. Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at a private cabin in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Friends and family who wish to attend may contact Rochelle Snow at (817) 706-8787.
