Hershell S Whatley

ATLANTA, Texas—Hershell S. Whatley, 84, of Kildare Junction, Texas, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, at his home. Mr. Whatley was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Cass County, Texas. He was retired from Austin Industries and a member of Savannah Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Whatley; one son, Keith Whatley; and one grandchild, Heather Whatley. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Whatley of Bivins, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Lori Whatley of Hallville, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Andy Surratt of Linden, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Nelva Whatley of Bivins, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Kelley Whatley of Kildare Junction, Texas; one brother-in-law, Marlin Thomas of Atlanta, Texas; one sister-in-law, Sue McAlexander of Atlanta; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hanner Funeral Service with Bruce Whatley and John Givens officiating. Burial will be in Kildare Cemetery.
