Bob J. Bunch

Bob Joe Bunch, 85, of Texarkana, TX left his earthly life on October 4, 2018 in Texarkana, Texas. Mr. Bunch was born September 22nd, 1933 in Arkoma, Oklahoma. He was a retired former owner of BWI Companies, Inc. He was a long-standing member of Williams Memorial United Methodist Church; Chairman of Nash, TX Industrial Development Corporation; former board member of Life Net Emergency Medical Services; President of the National Association of Horticultural Distributors; Board of Directors for Texarkana Chamber of Commerce; Century Member Boy Scouts of America; and a member of Cornerstone Retirement Communities Building Committee. He was a visionary responsible for building Bunch Woodview at Cornerstone. Bob Bunch was an entrepreneur who wasn't afraid of hard work or to take risks. He was a load bearing wall who would take on challenges, responsibility, and leadership. He made his community, church, lawn and garden industry, countless BWI team members, and the world a better place in his 85 years. He met the love of his life for over 61 years, Betty Duncan, while attending Oklahoma State when she asked him to vote for her for class officer. What a team they made working together! Both Bob and Betty later earned Master's degrees from Oklahoma State University. Survivors include his wife, Betty Bunch of Texarkana, TX; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Grant Foreman of Dallas, TX; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Becky Bunch of Nash, TX; and Jim and Cindy Bunch of Texarkana, TX. He also leaves six grandchildren and spouses, Haley and Dana Cox of Texarkana; Brent and Brittany Bunch of Texarkana, Arkansas; Karaline Bunch of Austin, Texas; Betty Foreman of San Diego, California; Harrison Foreman of Austin, Texas; Hannah Bunch of Nash, Texas; and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Glen McFarlane of Xenia, Ohio; three brothers, John Bunch and wife Mattie of DesMoines, Iowa; James A. Bunch and wife Linda of Texarkana; Ralph Bunch and wife Elia Bunch of Swansea, Illinois; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6th, at Williams Memorial United Methodist Church, 4000 Moore's Lane with the Reverend Dr. Brad Morgan officiating. Visitation will be Friday, October 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Chapelwood Funeral Home in Nash, TX. Online registration is at chapelwoodfuneralhome.com.
