NEW BOSTON, Texas—Burleson Eugene Johnson, 80, of New Boston died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, in a local nursing home. Mr. Johnson was born June 19, 1938, in Maud, Texas. He was retired from Red River Army Depot, a member of American Legion and Liberty Hill Baptist Church and an Army Reserve veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Johnson. Survivors include three sons, Rickey Johnson of New Boston, Daniel Johnson of Kaufman, Texas, and Joseph Johnson of Shreveport, La.; two daughters, Sandra Williams of Dallas and Vicki Woodmansee of Texarkana, Texas; one sister, Juanita Higginbotham of New Boston; one brother, Billy Johnson of New Boston; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a number of other relatives. Memorial Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home with Ed Miller officiating. Burial will be in Daniels Chapel Cemetery, New Boston, at a later date.
