QUEEN CITY, Texas—Dee D. Gardner, 93, of Queen City died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, in a Linden, Texas, nursing home. Mr. Gardner was born March 5, 1925, in Anadarko, Okla. He was retired from Cass County Precinct III and a member of Courtland Baptist Church, Atlanta, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Gardner; and three sons, Rodney Dale Gardner, Paul Steve Thurman and Thomas G. Long. Survivors include one son, Bobby Long of Nashville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Heather Thurman-Roach, Sandy Mahon and Tonya Domokos of Atlanta, Elleigh Gardner of Baltimore, Md., Cullen Gardner of Texarkana, Texas, Monty Long of Dyerburg, Tenn., Chad Long of Cabot, Ark., and Twyla Long of Nashville; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Queen City Funeral Home. Burial will be in Queen City Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
