BETTY SHEARS

HOPE, Ark.—Betty Sue Shears, 79, of Hope died Monday, Oct. 8, 2018. Mrs. Shears was born July 12, 1939, in McCaskill, Ark. She was retired from Champion Parts and UACCH, a member of Terger Alumni Association and a choir president, hospitality committee president and member of Greater Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Shears. Survivors include five children, Margie Thrower, Dorothy Wright, Frederick Shears, Sheila Shears and Felicia Shears; six sisters, Georgia Hickles, Liddy Smith, Doris Brown, Emma Brags and Ernestine Burton of Hope and Gloria Johnson of Dallas; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Garrett Chapel Baptist Church, Hope. Burial will be in Scott's Memorial Gardens, Perrytown, Ark., under direction of Hicks Funeral Home. The body may be viewed noon to 5 p.m. today with visitation 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
