Betty Brown "Mrs. Betty" was called home to our Lord Tuesday, October 9, 2018. Born March 20, 1935, to Ollie and Jerry Barlow, Mrs. Betty to all that knew her, was a unique and caring individual who touched the life's of all that crossed her path. In 1954, she married her soulmate Kenneth Brown and they raised two children, Kim Huddleston and Keith Brown. She was totally dedicated to her family and friends in all aspects of their lives. She was one of the best homemakers there ever will be. She loved to make sure that your belly was always full and that your fridge always had something in it that she had made. She was a great cook, and she loved doing it. No matter how bad she felt, she was always showing someone her kind heart. She would still cook for any and everyone, and trust me you weren't leaving without making a plate. Betty didn't do very well with the words, "I'm not hungry. " If there is anything that she might have loved more than her own children, it was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was so proud of them all. Animals, now that's something she may have loved more than any child, grandchild, or great grandchild. Haha After about 100 stray cats on her back porch, we would say, "don't you think that's enough and her reply would be well no, they are hungry" She would do anything for anyone or anything. Truly a selfless soul. Strong minded, well that's a mild way to describe her. Just as fast as she was to love you, she was even faster to tell you what she thought. She had no problem at all telling anyone her opinion and most the time, the best answer back to her would be, "yes ma'am" She absolutely loved being involved with every single person in her life, from spreading the word of the Lord, listening, telling you what she thought, cooking, laughing, giving love gifts, to just giving a hug. She always had room for more and would have never turned anyone away. She will always continue to be a huge influence in everyone's life that she has touched. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Jerry and Ollie Barlow, her Husband Kenneth Brown, and her sister Ellen Graham. She is survived by her children, one daughter and son-in-law Kim and David Huddleston, one son and daughter-in -law Keith and Elizabeth Brown; six grandchildren, Jeremy Huddleston and his wife Glenda, Jamie Huddleston and his wife JanaLynn, Amie Allen and her husband Bryan, Daniel Brown and his wife Tamaryn, Mitchell Brown and his wife Jen, Becca Arnold and her husband Geoffrey; 16 great grandchildren, Jarod, Mason, Lexi, Rhett, Brody, Kylee, Kinzlee, Kloee, Janae, Victoria, Blake, Kinslee, Claire, Kyra, Sydney, and Max. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Chaplewood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Holt officiating. Burial will follow and be held at Red Lick Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Mrs. Betty, and the whole family would like to thank Reunion Plaza and staff; Heritage Hospice staff and special friend Kara Taylor for always being there and taking such great care of her for all of these years. We love you all!!
