Maryan Whitlow

Maryan Whitlow, 76, of El Dorado passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018. Born February 11, 1942 in Lawton, Oklahoma, the daughter of Cleon and Oletta Kinney Howell. Mrs. Whitlow was a teacher for 40 years in the El Dorado and Little Rock Public Schools. She was a faithful ministry partner during her 55 years of marriage to the Rev. Sam Whitlow. Together she and Sam lived as selfless servants of Jesus Christ. She reflected Christ's love through the cards she sent, the hugs she gave, and the smile she always wore. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister-in-law, Johnnie Howell. Survivors include her husband, Rev. Sam Whitlow of El Dorado; their chosen daughter, Andria Gleghorn, of El Dorado; and two brothers, Bobby Howell (Lisa) of Texarkana, and Larry Howell of Rosenburg, TX. Three nephews Jeff Whitlow (Ashley), John Howell (Andi), and Matt Howell (Katherine). Three great nephews, one great niece, and a multitude of aunts, cousins and friends. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Young's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Harmony Baptist Church, 4268 Junction City Hwy, El Dorado, AR 71730 with Rev. Connor Garlington officiating. Graveside services are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Sand Hill Cemetery in Simms, Texas under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials may be made to the Maryan Whitlow Teacher's Scholarship Fund, 707 E. Sixth, El Dorado, AR.
