JAMES MOTEN SR.

HOPE, Ark.—James William "Sunny" "Purple" Moten Sr., 84, of Crossroads, Ark., died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, at his home. Mr. Moten was born Aug. 17, 1934, in McNabb, Ark. He was a retired diesel mechanic with Red River Army Depot, formerly employed with Cargill, attended Baptist Church, McNab, Ark., and a Korean War Army veteran. He was preceded in death by two sons, James Moten Jr. and Bruce Moten. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Kay and George Wall of Crossroads and Pam and David "Nasty" Reyenga of Guernsey, Ark.; two sisters, Ernestine Powell of Harrison, Ark., and Janice Campbell of Lewisville, Ark.; one special friend, Gene Carpenter; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Yellow Creek Cemetery, Fulton, Ark., with David Fields officiating. Burial will be under direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home.
