BOBBY GRIFFITH

Bobby Griffith, 83, of Texarkana, Arkansas, passed away on October 27, 2018, at Cornerstone. He was born October 12, 1935, in Texarkana, Arkansas. Mr. Griffith was a member of Shiloh Memorial Baptist Church. He retired from Buhrman-Pharr Hardware after more than 42 years of service. After his retirement, he volunteered some of his time to the Shiloh Cemetery Association. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Luther P. Griffith and Mary Atlas Thomas Griffith; three brothers, O.M. "Pete" Griffith, James Varnel "Red" Griffith and Travis L. "Scooter" Griffith. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie Jeanette Sams Griffith; two daughters, Sheila Marie Hoelscher Wolfe and Bobbie Lynnette "Lyn" Holt; one son, Raymond Eugene Griffith; five grandchildren, Jared Lawrence Holt, Emily Anna Holt, Catherine Marie Hoelscher, Mary Jeanette Wolfe and Aiden Michael Griffith; a fishing buddy, Bill Vanderbilt; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Texarkana Funeral Home-Arkansas Chapel with the Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Cornerstone and Hospice of Texarkana for their concern and excellent care they gave to our loved one.
