ERMA NELSON

HOPE, Ark.—Erma J. Nelson, 67, of Albany, N.Y., died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018. Ms. Nelson was born March 8, 1951, in Ozan, Ark. She was retired from Aurora Insurance, formerly employed by Hartford Insurance Co., and a member of Worthy Matron of Sisters of Adah No. 144, a member of International F&AMM, Order of Eastern Star Lucille J. Smith District No. 7, and Queen of South and Lady Knights Courts and First Church of Albany. Survivors include two children, Ericka D. McGhee and Anthony C. Nelson of Albany; two stepchildren, Anita Green and Carlton Newman of Albany; four brothers, Dennis C. Nelson and Arthur L. Nelson Jr. of Albany, Ronnie L. Nelson of Baldwin, N.Y., and Rodney L. Nelson of Nashville, Ark.; one stepbrother, Rasheed Iman of Nashville, Ark.; five sisters, Darlene Cannon, Patricia A. Johnson and Charlotte E. Piggee of Nashville, Andrea M. Nelson of Baltimore, Md., and Tonya Nelson-McCoy of Kingston, N.C.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at New Light CME Church, Nashville. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Ozan, Ark., under direction of Hicks Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
