De QUEEN, Ark.—Sam Brown Thompson, 86, of Horatio, Ark., died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, at his home. Mr. Thompson was born Nov. 9, 1931, in Horatio. He was a truck driver, mechanic, rancher, a member of Horatio First United Methodist Church and an Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Penelope Ann "Penny" Jones; and one granddaughter, Brittany Jones. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Purtell Thompson; one son and daughter-in-law, Madison and Maria Thompson of Horatio; and one grandson, Richard Thompson of De Queen. Services will be 10 a.m. today at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Horatio Cemetery.
