Cala James

Cala James, 65, formerly of Bryans Mill, Texas, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018. Ms. James was born Jan. 16, 1953, in Bryans Mill. She was a piano player and member of New Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Lamarcia Hamilton of Marietta, Texas, and Trayce Brown of Daingerfield, Texas; three sons, R.P. James and LaRodrick Roberson of Marietta and Lashadrick James of Cedar Hill, Texas; two brothers, Calvin Parker of Longview, Texas, and Ronnie Parker of Bryans Mill; three sisters, Deloria Heard of Atlanta, Texas, Louise Jiles of Bryans Mill and Addie Davis of Douglasville, Texas; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2:30 p.m. today at Floyd Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Orlando Buford officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery under direction of Richardson Hill Funeral Home.
