CLARKSVILLE, Texas—Gary Bob Thomas, 78, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at his home. Mr. Thomas was born Dec. 3, 1939, in Clarksville. He was retired from Texas Department of Human Services, a member of Sherry Baptist Church and an Army National Guard veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Abigail Thomas. Survivors include three sons and one daughter-in-law, Doak and Debra Thomas of Lumberton, Texas, and Blake Thomas and James Z. Thomas of Clarksville; one sister, Sue O'Dea of Richardson, Texas; two brothers, Jim Thomas and Mark Thomas of Clarksville; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Lone Star Cemetery with the Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will be under direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
