PAUL DOWD JR.

Paul William Dowd, Jr., 82, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, in a local hospice. Mr. Dowd was born Aug. 17, 1936 in Texarkana, Ark. He was a retired contractor, owner of Dowd's Construction and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Dowd; and one son, Paul W. "Trey" Dowd III. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bubba and Wendy Dowd of Texarkana; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sonya and Kirk Covert and Pamela Raney of Texarkana and Paula and Mike Hopper of Cypress, Texas; one brother, Jerry Dowd of Dallas; one sister, Patsy Bass of Texarkana; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services will be 4 p.m. Monday at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Wade Fowler Jr. officiating. Burial is under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
