JEAN REED

Jean Odom Reed, 84, of Kaufman, Texas, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, in a Dallas, Texas, hospital. Mrs. Reed was born Jan. 5, 1934, in Redwater, Texas. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Houston Reed; one son, Jeffrey Gonzales; and one grandson, Steven Hollaway. Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Sams of Hooks, Texas, and Julie Rodamaker of Kaufman; eight grandchildren, Melissa Cook, Amanda Lynch, Jeremy Rodamaker, Samantha Malone, Larry Hollaway, Ryan Nichols, Brandan Nichols and Hannah Hollaway; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Chapelwood Funeral Home with John Lowery officiating. Burial will be in Red Lick Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
