MAX McALISTER

BELLVILLE, Texas—Max Leroy "Spencer" McAlister, 64, of Redwater, Texas, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, in Bryan, Texas. Mr. McAlister was born Oct. 21, 1953, in Melburne, Ark. He was a brick layer and general contractor. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Catrina and Sam Hopper of Gilmer, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Shane and Starla McAlister of Maud, Texas; his mother, Betty McAlister of Bryan, Texas; one sister, Mary Jane Gray of Bryan; one nephew, Joshua Gray of College Station, Texas; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 3 p.m. today at Schmidt Funeral Home with Bruce Ligon officiating. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Cemetery.
