CATHEY BACKUS

NASHVILLE, Ark.—Cathey Backus, 65, of Nashville died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018. Mrs. Backus was born Sept. 4, 1953. She was a teacher at Howard County Children's Center and a member of First Baptist Church, Nashville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Backus; and one son, Jacob Backus. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Julie Backus of Mineral Springs, Ark.; one brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Debbie Spears of Nashville; one sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Curtis Schade of Nashville; five grandchildren; five nieces and nephews; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Bluff Springs Cemetery with Kevin Sartin and Ben Jones officiating. Burial will be under direction of Latimer Funeral Home.
