TEXARKANA, Texas – CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System held an event called Nurses' Night Out on Thursday evening at Redbone Magic Brewing.

"The intention is to acknowledge nurses and acknowledge the hard work that the teams have put forth," said Dr. Louise Thornell, Ph.D., Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer. "It's nurses acknowledging nurses. And our nurses are a group that deserve recognition.

"Nurses have the opportunity to heal, nurture and care for their patients and all who they come in contact with. This is an opportunity to give back some of that nurturing."

Those present were able to participate in activities including door prizes and raffles.

Area nurses also had an opportunity to learn about career opportunities at CHRISTUS St. Michael. The CHRISTUS St. Michael Talent Acquisition team was on hand to answer anyone's questions.

"All of our healthcare workers are always committed every day day in and day out to the health and well-being of our community," Director of Marketing Francine Francis said. "We do know the past 18 months to two years has been extremely challenging, so this is just a way for our nursing discipline here to recognize area nurses for their efforts and their commitment to their calling."
