TEXARKANA, Ark. - About 60 vintage cars rolled into downtown Saturday to the delight of hundreds local nostalgic auto gazers at the Four States Auto Museum's Spring Antique Auto Show.

Museum Board President Jim Christian said the cars covered seven decades of auto history and design. The came from locations came from throughout the region.

"We usually have from 130 to 150 cars show up to this event, but there were two other car shows in the area," Christian said.

The cars ranged from 1930 to about 1995. Lee Keele took top prize as best of show for his 1953 Chevy pickup.

Christian said about the only thing different about the show this year, was having CHRISTUS St. Michael deliver COVID 19 shots. He said the local Corvette Club helped out well with the judging.

Linda Carlisle, who took third place in the 1950-1959 category with her 1965 Ford Fairlane, said she is a 1975 graduate of New Boston High School, and always dreamed of owning a 1957 Chevrolet since that was her birth year.

"My husband finally got me the Ford Fairlane since it was as close as he could get to finding a 57 Chevy," she said. "We've had it about eight years now. I think I like the tail lights the best because of the way they come up to a point."

Christian said he anticipates getting back up to about 150 antique cars showing up for the museum's Oct. 30 car show.

"We want to keep our spring time show on Mothers Day weekend, if we can," he said.

Some of the other cars that took top honors Saturday included 1970 Dodge Challenger, a 1946 Chevy pick-up truck, a 1930 Ford sedan, a 1930 Model A Ford, a 1969 Mercury Cougar , a 1978 Pontiac Trans-Am and a 1982 Ford Mustang.
