TEXARKANA Ark. -- As a salute to Scott Joplin, the local Scott Joplin Support Group will hold a Scott Joplin's Jazzy Birthday Cocktails event starting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the 1923 Banana Club, downtown.
The event will feature a "Peacherine Cocktail," a drink named after one of Joplin's songs, as well as live Jazz music.
Patrons will receive an entry drink ticket for a $50 donation at the door, along with Hors d'oeuves and "Texarkana Notes" wine supplied by the Verona Fine Italian restaurant.
The club is located at 223 Front St., inside the basement of the 1894 Gallery & Market.
