Hawks pulverize Panthers, 60-0

PARIS, Texas -- Jaylen Boardley scored three rushing touchdowns as Pleasant Grove crushed North Lamar, 60-0, in a District 8-4A, Div. II football game on Friday at R.L. Maddox Stadium.

North Lamar attempted an onside kick to start the third quarter, but Pleasant Grove recovered. Jarret Halter connected with RJ Collins on a 55-yard touchdown pass with 11:49 to go in the third. The Hawks went up, 44-0, and added to their lead after a safety, 46-0.

Jojo Bailey ran the ball in from 15 yards out to give Pleasant Grove a 53-0 advantage with 8:06 to go in the third. Nasir Collazo rushed for a 17-yard TD to make it 60-0 with 52 seconds remaining in the third.

Boardley found the end zone from 4 yards out for his second TD of the game to put the Hawks on top, 30-0, with 10:31 left in the second. Boardley broke free on a 55-yard scamper to pad Pleasant Grove's lead, 37-0 with 6:09 to go until halftime.

Kaden McFadden had a 35-yard pick-6 to put Pleasant Grove up, 7-0, with 10:04 left in the first quarter.

North Lamar went 3-and-out, and the Hawks started at the Panthers' 41-yard line after a poor punt. Davion Stewart broke a tackle, went around the left side and scored a touchdown to put PG up, 14-0, with 7:07 in the first.

Pleasant Grove sacked North Lamar's quarterback in the end zone for a safety to go up, 16-0. Keilin Benton returned the ensuing kickoff 44 yards as the Hawks set up on the Panther 16.

Boardley scored on a 4-yard run with 4:54 left in the first as Pleasant Grove grabbed a 23-0 advantage.
