Texarkana school board to discuss redrawing its wards

TEXARKANA, Texas -- The Texarkana Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet Wednesday to consider possible action regarding the 2020 Census and Redistricting of Board districts.

According to the agenda packet, this item conforms with the Voting Rights Act and constitutional requirements regarding numerical balance of the single-member districts of the TISD board.

During Superintendent Dr. Doug Brubaker's information items to the board, he'll give an overview on the upcoiming Northeast Texas School Board Association fall meeting, as well as field trip requests.

The following proposals will be considered for approval:

-- Resolution for investment officers and training locations

-- Resolution for certificates of deposit to be purchased by district from various financial institutions

-- Bowie Central Appraisal District 2021 Tax Roll

-- Change Date of November 2021 Board Meeting to Wednesday, Nov. 17 in lieu of Nov. 24

-- Change Date of Dec. 2021 Board Meeting to Wednesday, Dec. 15, in lieu of Dec. 22

-- Revision to Policy CB (Local), State and Federal Revenue Sources

The monthly financial report, expenditures and Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief teacher retention bonuses will be considered for approval during the action/discussion items.

After reports and review items, a closed session will be considered.
