TEXARKANA, Texas -- The fifth annual Christmas on Main will bring classic movies and more to downtown Saturday.
This year, the all-day event in and outside of the Perot Theatre features Santa Claus, ice skating and screenings of "The Polar Express," "Elf" and "It's a Wonderful Life."
An outdoor ice skating rink will be open with skates available from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Visitors can shop local vendors, get a cup of hot chocolate and grab a snack from a variety of food trucks, including Cactus Cones, Good Eats Catering Co., Dre'Licious Dishes and Shell Shocked Catering Co.
A vintage fire truck will be on scene from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council will help children make holiday crafts to take home.
Discount passes for all three movies, as well as individual tickets for each, are available. With a Polar Express Golden Ticket, children can meet Santa on the theater's mezzanine, get a magical sleigh bell and enjoy a special snack.
Previously called Perot Holiday Traditions, the event is a joint production of the Perot, Texarkana Symphony Orchestra and the city.
(Christmas on Main will begin with "The Polar Express" at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Perot Theatre, 221 Main St. "Elf" will begin at 2 p.m. and "It's a Wonderful Life" at 7 p.m. An all-day movie pass costs $13. Individual tickets for "The Polar Express" and "Elf" cost $6, and an "It's a Wonderful Life" ticket costs $8. A Polar Express Golden Ticket costs $21. Ice skating costs $5 per person for 30 minutes.
