Sunset Missionary Baptist Church to install the Rev. Jermareian L. Gillette as the new pastor

TEXARKANA, Texas -- Sunset Missionary Baptist Church will inaugurate its new pastor, the Rev. Jermareian L. Gillette, at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 6.

The church is located at 808 Capp Street.

The theme for the occasion is "The Gift of a Pastor," Jeremiah 3:15.

The public is invited to the celebration.

Special guest for this occasion will be Dr. Craig White, who will share during the 11 a.m. service, followed by Pastor T.L. Garner Jr. and the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Austin at 3:30 p.m.

The Rev. J.L. Gillette was born May 2, 1992. According to a release, he graduated as a distinguished student from Elgin High School, Elgin, Texas. in 2010. He continued his education at Western Baptist Bible College in Kansas City, Missouri, then relocated to further his education at American Baptist College, Nashville, Tennessee, earning a B.A. in pastoral care and counseling.

In the spring of 2019, he graduated with a concentration in homiletics at Morehouse School of Religion -- The Interdenominational Theological Center, Atlanta, Georgia.

Currently, he is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree matriculating at United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio.

Gillette is also an employee with the Texarkana Independent School District. He is a gifted percussionist and loves great Gospel music, bowling, golfing, fishing, and fellowshipping with his "preacher friends." He loves great preaching and those who are called to preach the Word of God.

The Rev. Gillette is described in the release as a Gospel preacher with "exegetical integrity, homiletic skills, and hermeneutical sincerity and humility." He has preached throughout the United States and in the Bahamian Islands, specifically Nassau, as a student at American Baptist College.
