Juvenile arrested in shooting death of teen at Texarkana, Texas, apartment complex

TEXARKANA, Texas -- Police are investigating an overnight shooting that left a 17-year-old boy dead.

A 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the crime, according to Texarkana Texas Police Department.

Officers responded at 1:30 a.m. Monday to an apartment in the 1000 block of College Drive, according to information from TTPD. When officers arrived on scene, they found the deceased victim, identified as Jason Hubbard, inside an apartment.

Officers arrested the 16-year-old at the apartment and transported him to the juvenile detention facility. Investigators believe the two boys were friends. The gun recovered at the scene had previously been reported stolen in Hope, Arkansas, according to TTPD.

The shooting is still under investigation.
