JAMES JACKSON

James Winfred Jackson, 87, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, in a local hospital. <br />Mr. Jackson was born Sept. 6, 1920, in Texarkana. He was retired from the Navy and Day & Zimmermann, past patron of Order of the Eastern Star, past president of Bowie-Cass Shrine Club, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Scottish and York Rite, Hella Temple and Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church and a World War II veteran. <br />Survivors include his wife, Betty Qualls Jackson of Texarkana; four daughters, Margaret Boyles of Texarkana, Patricia Weaver and Betty Jackson of San Antonio and Jennifer Morace of Monroe, La.; two sisters, Margene Katz of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Betty Burnett of Texarkana; one brother, Harold Jackson of Texarkana; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas, with the Rev. Garry Masterson officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens. <br />Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, Shreveport, La., or Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church Building Fund. <br />Online registration is at www.texarkanafuneralhome.com. <br /> <br />
