JOHNNY JEFFERY

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas—Johnny Morris “J.J.” Jeffery, 69, of Ore City, Texas, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, in a Longview, Texas, hospital. <br />Mr. Jeffery was born April 4, 1938, in Up-shur County, Texas. He was preceded in death by one wife, Emma Lee Hayes Jeffery; and one daughter, Lisa Jeffery. <br />Survivors include his wife, Vernell Jones Jeffery; eight children, James “Tuffy” Jeffery, Gary Jeffery, Calvin Jeffery and Cathy “Susie” Alexander of Greenville, Texas, Michael “Mike” Jeffery of Rowlett, Texas, Nathan Jeffery of Texarkana, Rios Waddleton of Midland, Texas, and Lashun Haley of Ore City; one special cousin, Samuel “Cleon” Sayles of Ore City; 15 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Baptist Church, Ore City, with Johnny Q. Brown officiating.
