ERIC AIKINS


MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas—Eric Von “Hard Time” “Chucky” Aikins, 42, of Mount Pleasant died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, in Mount Pleasant.

Mr. Aikins was born Feb. 13, 1969, in Dallas. He was a trunk driver at Pilgrim’s Pride, president of Rollaz4LyfeMC, a member of National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and an Army veteran. 

Survivors include his wife, Chetina Gallon Aikins of Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Breonna Aikins and Angel Aikins of Mount Pleasant; three sons, Christopher Aikins, Jamarri Aikins and Davon Hudson of Mount Pleasant; his mother, Barbara Aikins of Mount Pleasant; three brothers, Haywood Aikins III of DeSoto, Texas, Michael Aikins Brannon of Seattle, Wash., and Thomas Aikins of Mount Pleasant; three sisters, Lorraine Godbolt and Lorretta Smith of Dallas and Linda Aikins Hodges of Mesquite, Texas; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Byron Muse and Elder Michael Aikins Brannon officiating. Burial will be in Old West Side Cemetery under direction of Tumey Mortuary.

Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
