GLADYS LAWLER

Gladys Guyton Lawler, 88, of Texarkana, Ark., died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at her home.

Mrs. Lawler was born Feb. 5, 1923, in Wright City, Okla. She was a homemaker and member of Hickory Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Lawler; and one daughter, Shirley Ann Lawler.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Wayne Wheat of Texarkana and Cindy and Weldon Thomason of Fouke, Ark.; one sister, Oval Lee Williams of Texarkana; four grandchildren, Dena Youngblood, Becky Wheat, Duner Wheat and Jamie Jones of Texarkana; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Peggy Guyton of Texarkana; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today in East Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Kevin Holt officiating. Burial will be under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.

The family will be at the Wheat residence, 2715 E. 18th St., Texarkana, Ark.
