NEHEMIAH BAILEY

Nehemiah Bailey Sr., 93, of Eudora, Ark., died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, in an Ashdown, Ark. nursing home.

Mr. Bailey was born Dec. 20, 1917, in Birdsong, Ark. He was the retired supervisor of transportation for Lake Village Ford Motor Co., member of Star of Bethlehem Lodge 125, Eudora, and Old Shiloh No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esselen Bailey.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Nehemiah Jr. and Cynthia Bailey of Camden, Ark., two daughters and one son-in-law, Shirley and Eddie Smith of Foreman, Ark., and Jimmie Helen Barnes of Ashdown; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. 

Services will be noon Saturday at Eudora Minister’s Institute, Eudora, with Ronnie Keener officiating. Burial will be in Hill Cemetery under direction of Lyles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
