MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas—Desmond Juwon Woods Jones, 40, of Mount Pleasant died Sunday, March 26, 2017, in Longview, Texas. Mr. Jones was born Oct. 1, 1976, in Dallas. He was attending a truck driving school and a member of Greater Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church. Suvivors include his parents, Donnie and Shirley Jones of Pittsburg, Texas, and Janis and Jerry Eaton of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Amaya Jones of Pittsburg; one sister, Christina Jones-Robertson of Dallas; three brothers, Derrick Jones of Pittsburg, Byron Eaton of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jaron Eaton of Seattle; his grandmothers, Vera Jones of Pittsburg and Ollie Eaton of Mount Pleasant; three nieces and nephews; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Greater Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Bertrand Bailey officiating. Burial will be in West Chapel Cemetery under direction of Tumey Mortuary.
