MARTHA BROOKS

Martha Jean Brooks, 80, of Texarkana, Ark., died Thursday, March 23, 2017, in Texarkana. Ms. Brooks was born Aug. 7, 1936, in Texarkana. She was employed in shipping and receiving with the Baptist Book Store. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Wanda and Willie Hill and Deloris Temple of Texarkana; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James Brooks and Stevie and Elnita Brooks of Texarkana; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. Orlando Godfrey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under direction of Jones Stuart Mortuary. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
