Stephanie Smith Haak, 46, of Texarkana, Texas, died August 9, 2018, at Texarkana Hospice surrounded by family and friends. Stephanie was born on December 11, 1971, in Texarkana, Texas, to Sharon Townsend Smith and the late Arley Smith, Jr. She was a life-long member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. A beautiful soul with the most radiant smile, Stephanie lit up every room she graced. For 24 years, she was a nurse, fulfilling her passion for helping others and improving lives. Always putting others first, she was meant for nursing. Stephanie's pride and joy were her three children, and she never missed a sporting event or school function. She was always there to support them in every one of their undertakings. A woman who soaked up every second of life, Stephanie enjoyed cheering on the Dallas Cowboys every Sunday, making trips to Albert Pike with her family, and listening to her 80s hair bands. Her knowledge of music spanned all genres, but her affinity for classic rock music was unmatched. She was always up for an adventure, and many of her greatest memories were result of her spontaneity. A beauty queen at heart, Stephanie could shop all day, and she never went without a tube of lip gloss. Her mother, husband, children, and friends all benefited from her kind nature. They were all privileged to have witnessed her beauty and irrepressible spirit as she went through life, cherishing the moments it provided. Stephanie's battle with cancer lasted for over eight years, and it was characterized by grace, fortitude, and faithfulness. She met each day, even those full of darkness, with a joyful disposition. She is survived by her husband, Jason; 3 children, Madeline, Cade, and Marley; her mother, Sharon Smith; 2 brothers, Craig and Eric Smith; one sister-in-law, Sharon Ann Smith; a plethora of nieces and nephews, her neighbors from "The Hood," and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Arley Smith Jr. Stephanie's family and friends are unexplainably grateful to have been blessed by her presence in their lives. Though her passing will leave selfish hearts to mourn a painful loss, her inspiration will forever live, serving as a guiding light for those on tumultuous journeys. Stephanie's memory is surely a beacon that will provide hope for many hearts. Until the day when God's faithful servants see Heavenly reunion, Stephanie will forever be in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. She will walk alongside us in every endeavor, a silent reminder that life is lived best with every moment being appreciated. Rest in peace, our angel, for our earthly memories are not the last we will make together. We will see you again soon in the Kingdom of Righteousness, which is right where you belong. A celebration of Stephanie's life will be at 3 pm Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Trinity Baptist Church, with Reverend Doug Rhodes officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas. The family will receive friends at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas from 5-7 pm Saturday.
