ATLANTA, Texas—Alma Emiline Sheffield, 86, of Bloomburg, Texas, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, in a Longview, Texas, nursing home. Mrs. Sheffield was born Dec. 1, 1931, in Bloomburg. She was retired from United Ammunition Co. and attended Center Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Utah Sheffield; one son, Samuel Sheffield; and one grandson, Joe Sheffield. Survivors include four sons, James Sheffield of Huntsville, Texas, and David Sheffield, Donald Sheffield and Jerry Sheffield of Bloomburg; three daughters, Judy Simpson of Williamsburg, Va., Kathy Stone of Bloomburg and Diana Francis of Atlanta; two sisters, Frances Stalcup of Atlanta and Christine Rachaner of The Woodlands, Texas; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. today at Hanner Funeral Home with Donald Sheffield officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Online registration is at hannerfuneralservice.com.
