DeKALB, Texas—Jeremy O'Bryan Hawkins, 40, formerly of Naples, Texas, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, in a Texarkana, Texas hospital. Mr. Hawkins was born Sept. 18, 1977, in Naples. He was formerly employed with Cooper Tire, the State Highway Department and Red River Army Depot Civil Service, a charter member of Sons of American Legion No. 488 and a member of American Blue Cattle Breeders Inc. Survivors include his parents, Anita Mayes of New Boston and Jerry and Charlotte Hawkins of DeKalb; two brothers, Michael Hawkins of DeKalb and Lee Mayes of Lawton, Okla.; three sisters, Amanda Glass and Tracey Hawkins of DeKalb and Carol Waldrum of New Boston; one stepbrother, Ronald Duke of Marshall, Texas; his grandmother, Birtie Smith of New Boston; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Bates Family Funeral Home with Tuffy Williams officiating. Burial will be in Red Bayou Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
