DE QUEEN, Ark.—Joe Edward Vobora, 85, of De Queen died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, in a Little Rock, Ark., hospital. Mr. Vobora was born April 1, 1933. He was retired postmaster in Grants Pass, Ore., a member of First United Methodist Church and a Korean War Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by two wives, Bernice Vobora and Mari Alice Vobora; and one stepson, Steven Johnson. Survivors include one son, Michael Frank Vobora of De Queen; one daughter, Tone Jo Wartinger of De Queen; two stepsons, Lonny Own Coleman of Branch, Mich., and Glenn Johnson of Kerrville, Texas; one stepdaughter, Jackie Mari Halstead of Yamhill, Ore.; one brother, Stanley Frank Vobora of Spokane, Wash.; four sisters, Barbara Louise Van de Wetering of Corvallis, Ore., Margaret Besler and Kathy Vobora of Grants Pass and Alice Ann Bromund of Vacaville, Calif.; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Chandler Funeral Home with Mark Cloninger officiating. Online registration is at chandlerfuneral.com.
