DORA DYER

Dora Mae Dyer, 97, passed peacefully on December 5, 2018, in the comfort of her daughter's home. Mrs. Dyer was born on February 12, 1921, in Dallas City, Illinois. She moved with her family to Texarkana, AR, in 1929, where she was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Arkansas. She was very devoted to her family, friends, church, and community. She was happiest when she was helping others. At the age of 92, she moved to Lake Charles, LA, to live with her daughter. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Rudolph Dyer (Doc), son, William R. Dyer, Jr. (Bill) and daughter, Mary Elizabeth Galloway. Those left to cherish her memory include daughters: Linda Latour and husband Jimmy, Edna Breaux and husband Larry; 10 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Monday, December 10, 2018, at East Funeral Home-Downtown The funeral will follow at 2pm. Sue Ellen Hall from First Presbyterian Church in Texarkana, AR, will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Memorial Gardens.
