JOHN HURD III

DeKALB, Texas—John Earl Hurd III, 47, of DeKalb died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018, in a Texarkana, Texas, hospital. Mr. Hurd was born July 5, 1971, in DeKalb. He was employed with Pilgrims Pride, De Queen, Texas. Survivors include two daughters, Lilly Hurd and Annah Hurd of Broken Bow, Okla.; two sons, Johnathan Hurd and Joseph Hurd of Broken Bow; his parents, Minnie Hurd of DeKalb and John Hurd of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three sisters, Constance Hurd of Dallas, Dee Dee Hurd of Tulsa, Okla., and Kelly Hurd of Arizona; one brother, Renior Hurd of Texarkana, Ark.; five grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bates Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Haywood officiating. Burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
