ODELLE ALLEN

HOUSTON—Odelle Hodge Allen, 95, of Houston, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, in a local hospital. Mrs. Allen was born Jan. 5, 1923, in Linden, Texas. She was a homemaker, a home health provider and a member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Allen; two sons, Ross and Eugene; and one grandson, Reginald Allen. Survivors include five children, Gloria J. Brown and Bobbie Gail Allen of Houston, Vern Allen Sr. of Linden, Sammy Allen of Cypress, Texas, and Janiece Allen of Rockwall, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be noon Saturday at Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Linden, with the Revs. Roy F. Bailey, A.C. Jackson and Anthony Castleberry officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery under direction of Allen Dave Funeral Home.
