BOBBY ROGERS

HOPE, Ark.—Bobby "Lightning" Rogers, 82, of Hope died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at his home. Mr. Rogers was born July 4, 1936, in Hope. He was employed with Hope Novelty and Vending Co., and a former car salesman and repo man. Survivors include his wife, Vertestene Rogers; nine children, Sylvia Tomlin of Lancaster, Va., Barbara Bishop of Manhattan, Kan., Patteri Rodgers Kirby, Avery "Steffon" Rogers and Derek Rogers of Hope, Daryl Holyfield of Texarkana, Stanley Rogers of Little Rock and Alex Rogers of Nashville, Ark.; one sister, Dorothy Flenory of Hope; 27 grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rising Star Baptist Church, Hope. Burial will be in Snell Cemetery, Emmet, Ark., under direction of Hicks Funeral Home. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
