LUSARA COWAN

ATLANTA, Texas—Lusara Cowan, 79, of Atlanta died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at a local nursing home. Mrs. Cowan was born June 17, 1938, in Hamlin, Texas. She was retired from McLeod ISD and a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Lewis Cowan. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Chris and Deanna Cowan of College Station, Texas, and Tracy Cowan of Texarkana, Texas; two daughters, Leslie Cowan of Atlanta and Valerie Cowan of Hope, Ark.; one brother, Joe A. Dean of Hamlin, Texas; four grandchildren, Bradley Coats, Brandon Coats, Hillary Winter and Connor Cowan; three great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Laws Chapel Cemetery with Chris Cowan officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.
