Roy Earl Haley

August 20, 1936 - February 3, 2018 Roy Earl Haley, born August 20, 1936, in Camden AR, passed from this life February 3, 2018, in Little Rock AR at UAMS. He was a resident of Texarkana TX and was 81 years old. Roy is preceded in death by his parents Royal Early and Edna Earl Haley; brother Talmadge; and sister Elaine. He is survived by his adoring wife Sue Haley of Texarkana TX; daughter Tanya Wadkins and husband Fran of Little Rock AR; Stepdaughters Belinda McFarlin, Terry Roberts and Chris Davis; Grandchildren, Lauren Wadkins, Brenton Wadkins, Nathan Wadkins, Chelsea Sullivan, Crimson Tyson, Victoria Shirley, Jacob Roberts, Joshua Roberts, Jared Roberts, Faye Dodson, Dan Davis and Cole Davis; Great grandchildren, Charles Tyson, Layla Tyson and Loralei Tyson; and Friend and former wife Peggy Keisler. Roy graduated from Fairview High School in Camden, Arkansas and attended Arkansas A&M in Monticello, Arkansas. He served in the United States Army National Guard and was called to active duty during the Central High School integration. Roy is a 48-year retiree from International Paper Company. He had a remarkable 35-year perfect attendance work history with them. Roy was an avid runner. His favorite being the 100-mile ultra run. He had more than 30 ultras under his belt. He accomplished two Grandslams, which consists of four ultras in one year. Roy was inducted into the Arkansas Runners Hall of Fame in 2002. He loved his many grandchildren and his family time. He had a love for working in his garden and all of his animals. A graveside service will be held under the direction of Queen City Funeral Home at Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 759 Maul Road at Sax Road, Camden, AR, Wednesday, February 7 at 1:00 pm in Roy's honor. The Haley family will receive visitors at their home in memoriam of Roy's glorious life beginning at 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM located at 6707 N. Park Rd, Texarkana, TX, Wednesday, February 7, 2018.
