KATHI COMPTON-MOWRER

Kathi Compton-Mowrer, 59, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2017, in a Shreveport, La., hospital. Mrs. Compton-Mowrer was born Oct. 21, 1958, in Texarkana, Texas. She was a special education teacher with Pleasant Grove School District, Foreman School District and Liberty-Eylau School District and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Charles Mowrer of Texarkana; two sons, Carlos Compton and Colin Compton; two stepsons, Jimmy Mowrer and John Mowrer; one stepdaughter, Therese Mowrer; her parents, Henry C. Henderson and Gloria D. Henderson of Texarkana; one brother, Charles "Boo" Henderson of Texarkana; one sister, Lois W. Williams of Memphis, Tenn.; one granddaughter; and a number of other relatives. Closed casket services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Phil Willis officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery under direction of Haynes Mortuary. Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Online registration is at haynesmortuary.com.
